The Ignite Youth group (grades 5-8) will have their annual Christmas party. Gerri Beal will host again. Kids will eat pizza and bake cookies. Cookies will then be delivered to local retirement homes. Please let Gerri or the office know if your kids plan to attend so we can arrange transportation and enough pizza.
This quarter the women are reading Alan Paton’s Cry, The Beloved Country. We will meet on Saturday, January 26th at the home of Gerri Beal to discuss the book. The exact time is yet to be determined but it will be around brunch or lunch time. Contact the office with any questions.
All women are invited to participate in our second annual prayer retreat. This will take place in a couple private homes over a Friday evening and a Saturday. Food is provided for you. Come for as much or as little time as you can. We do encourage you to sign up in the office so we can provide enough food and make sure we have enough room.
Friday night: 6:00-8:00 Simple soup supper. Discussion of how the day is planned for Saturday. You will be given a journal to use, if you want to use it. Bring your Bible and a pen.

You are invited to our annual holiday craft fair. Crafters and vendors will have their wares for sale just in time for you to get started on your holiday shopping. This will take place right after church. There will be woodworking, greeting cards, jewelry, knitting, and more. If you would like a table or more information, contact the church office.
You are invited to join us for our annual Trunk or Treat! Cars will be decorated in our parking lot to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters. If you would like to volunteer, you may either decorate your car, and yourself, in a theme or even just donate candy. Please contact the church office to reserve your spot and theme (no duplicate themes allowed).
This Fall we will be reading Tim Keller's A Gospel in Life: Grace Changes Everything. Join us at SVBC on Wednesdays for this 8-week study from September 12th - October 31st. There will be a morning session from 9:15-11:00 and an evening session (time to be determined) as well. Study books are $10 each. Please sign up in the church office and pay for your book or let us know if you need us to cover the cost for you. All women are invited.
Please join us for the community-wide Annual Worship in the Park. Church service will be held at Jackson Park in Hood River. SVBC will be there along with other Gorge churches. Bring your chairs or blankets and enjoy an outdoor sermon. There will be no service at SVBC that day.
This event will be hosted in private homes on Friday, June 1 following dinner hour (6:30 ish).
You can sign up to either host or attend. If you are not a game person, we will have the option for dessert only.

Join us at our annual plant exchange and potluck. Bring labeled plants, tools, gardening books, pots, etc that you no longer want. Take what you can use. Bring a dish to share at the potluck. John and Carolyn Stevens are hosting at their home (589 East Side Rd). You are welcome to come even if you don't have plants to share. There should be plenty of plants and food for all!
Join the women of SVBC at Connie Nagreen's home for another Cooking Together lunch. All ingredients will be provided and everyone will work together to prepare the dishes. You must RSVP to the office by Sunday, April 22nd to allow for the planning and purchasing of enough food on time. The menu includes Garden Quiche, Crustless Shrimp Quiche, Green Salad, and Sorbet with cookies. Thanks!
There will be a church-wide hike for any and all skill levels to Catherine Creek following church service on 4/15. Please bring or wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing. This hike is a few miles of easy to moderate terrain, with some lovely wild flowers to view (hopefully). Please bring a sack lunch you can eat on the way over or after the hike, and of course water! If for some reason the weather turns to rain we will cancel the hike, otherwise we will press on. Contact Chris Sherrell for more information. Please let her know if you will need a ride. Parents, children are welcome to participate with your supervision.
